Job Summary:
Toronto Lawn Keepers snow plough truck drivers are responsible for clearing and de-icing parking lots, driveways, walkways, steps, and sidewalks all over the GTA. We currently service  Commercial, Industrial and Institutional properties throughout the GTA. You will be assigned a truck equipped with a snowplough and salt spreader to provide service when required. Drivers are expected to be available 24Hrs/Day 7 Days/week at any time snow or ice event occurs from November 15, 2022- to April 30 2023. Drivers are also responsible for having a phone with data to track all service visits.

As a snowplough operator, you are responsible for safely operating your equipment while performing our services. Our clients trust us to provide quality services, and you will be playing that vital role.

Duties may include:
  • Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance of trucks and equipment.
  • Clear snow from customers’ sites and designated areas.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment safely, responsibly, and efficiently, following all recommended procedures.
  • Operate equipment as assigned.
  • Hand shovel/De-Ice site areas as required.
  • Submit paperwork electronically at the end of every shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills:
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to operate snowploughs and snow equipment.
  • Must be able to complete tasks promptly.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps.
  • Excellent observation skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Able to perform physical labour and operate light equipment.
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to meet deadlines, problem solve and work well under pressure.
  • Horticultural technician/apprenticeship certification is an asset.
Compensation:
  • Competitive salary ($25 – $30/hr plus standby)
  • Bonus for hitting production milestones
